OBJECTIVE |

|
Equine enthusiast Antoinette Rand is active in several organizations that work to promote awareness and improve standards in competitive equestrian sports, such as the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). Established in 1940 as a breed registry, AQHA's goal is to preserve the legacy of the American Quarter Horse. Enthusiasts such as Antoinette Rand favor the compact yet muscular American Quarter Horse because of its agility in courses and speed over short distances. Antoinette Rand appreciates AQHA's ability to register each American Quarter Horse and provide benefits to owners of the breed. Furthermore, Antoinette Rand supports AQHA's efforts to educate the public on the American Quarter Horse through programs and other curricula.
A primary resource for equine owners and devotees, AQHA also organizes several events on a regular basis for American Quarter Horses, including competitions. Among others, Antoinette Rand endorses the competitive sport of reining, recognized for the first time by AQHA in 1949. To ease problems involving registering American Quarter Horses for different purposes, the American Quarter Racing Association was established to oversee pedigrees of American Quarter Horses fit for racing, while AQHA remained focused on agility events. AQHA established not only the largest breed registry in the world but also one of the first horse museums, the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, located in Amarillo, Texas, honors people and horses who have brought the American Quarter Horse to prominence, both in sport and in entertainment. |
